I decided to make an account on Reddit after like 2 years, cause it’s the only place with a particular active community that I like.
I went through 4 accounts in 2 days, all perma banned. The mods in that place have gone completely insane, even more than before. Bans without warning, bans over hurt feelings, bans over literally nothing. The site is unusable, and there’s no discussion to be had because anything more than a one word answer gets you banned. I had an account there for 5 years with no issues, and now I lost 4 in 2 days over ban happy mods. Fuck that place

I went back last year to post about a datacenter kerfluffle, I got a response ‘This isn’t the kind of content our sub hosts’, and a 3 day silence.
After I sent them the links to my old posts IN THEIR OWN SUB and got permabanned and then 10 mins after that a siteban for ‘evading sub bans’.
My account was 10+ years old
Fuck reddit
But lemmy is getting just as bad in a matter of months.
