My local Wincos had a self checkout, and only have 1 or 2 cashiers open. They used to have two security guards and three cashiers managing the self checkout, with a massive line of people all the way to the back. It was like that for two years.
Today, I visited and they took the whole thing down, while having 5 checkout lines open. No security guards.
Real pleasant experience.
I must be in the minority as I love self checkouts, besides the fact I deal with one less person, they’re quick, easy, and I feel like I’m living out my inner child’s dream with each beep boop
Sounds like the problem here was they didn’t buy enough self check out machines to meet their demand. Going back to humans is a weird choice
It’s moreso theft.
I like them if I only stopped in for like 1 or 2 things.
Fuck self checkouts when I’m there for my weekly grocery stock up though.
