God this show was great, even if / especially because sometimes it became a live action cartoon. Sadly, it has never been released on DVD. I don’t even know if re-runs are still running.

If you preferred the opening with “5 O’Clock World” by The Vogues, I got you fam:

Edit: How could I forget about the original Moon Over Parma

And they were surprisingly progressive about it, too.

I need to rewatch the series before "10-4"ing that (at the very least the fact that what should be a major part of someone’s self conception was treated as a thing which could be dropped without issue or comment is troubling.)

Totally remember when Oswald got boobs though. That sort of thing plants some seeds, I tell ya. (“If you had a hand on your head we’d want to shake it.”)

Drew’s character also got civil union’d before anyone in his country could get gay married as I recall, but again I’ll need to rewatch how that was handled prior commenting.

I do remember taking issue with some of the social structures reinforced in some of the show’s humor, such as Drew looking up the definition of sexual harassment, " ‘Any unwelcome sexual advance.’? that’s every sexual advance I make!" I viewed that more as making light of sexual harassment than self-depreciation on Drew’s part.

I don’t personally care for Drew Carey—the sort of asshole who supports Ron Paul—and haven’t since he told a joke in 2003, “My girlfriend’s a Democrat; well… she hasn’t actually come out as a Democrat but she’s always bitching.” despite allegedly being critical of the united states invasion of Iraq himself.

Some of the company he keeps I fuck with so heavily it’s not like I’m calling on his canceling. He’s just that friend you wish would be a better person (and stop voting for Garry Johnson).
