Mark Zuckerberg and Nick Clegg are bad people. There is no ethical way to give militaries this kind of tool. They will use it to kill innocent people, while disingenuously touting its ‘ability’ to save lives.

If you still have any kind of Meta account or use any of their products, you are helping to legitimize them and give them more power. I’m tired of “it helps me buy junk in my neighborhood” or “but event invites!” excuses. Nope, they’re bad people, running a bad company, that causes real harm to real people every day. If you care at all about the health of society, you must stop giving them the ammunition they turn around and use against you. Stop. Using. Meta. Products.

“AI will make the world a better place”

Well I’m still waiting for 1 breakthrough in medicine, meanwhile yeah of course, military. I wonder if the IDF is making pull requests with the extensive experience gained by Lavender.

    This world sucks

AI is already being used to help detect cancers and other illnesses. The medical innovations aren’t as attention grabbing unfortunately. Can’t say I’m much of a fan of other AI uses myself either.

Indeed, but by breakthrough I mean curing cancer or aids for example. Billions poured in developing AI for war could maybe have brought such breakthroughs

LLMs aren’t it, but AI, as in the computer science field, has been helping the medical industry since it has existed.

Gave me flashbacks about receiving emails from them about connecting to friends of mine on their platform long before I ever interacted with any of said platforms in any way.

    Lol Israel been doing this.

A lot of the “AI” surveillance is being beta tested in Gaza and west bank. Regime across the world are lining up to buy it once tech matures.

    Ain’t tech great?

lol someone was concerned about the Chinese military using Meta’s AI models and now the company has opened its models for US military use. Hypocrisy runs high in this timeline.

I don’t think it’s hypocritical if you’re against a foreign nation from using your own nation’s tech in their military, especially if it’s hostile towards yours? That seems like a no brainer. It’s like selling weapons to your enemy, that’s essentially treason (not that it means anything right now with Trump lol). It’s only hypocritical if they are against it simply for using it.

In general agreed, but also depends on what the reason you gave on if you are a hypocrite.

IE if you said “I’m not opening this up to Chinese millitary use because I don’t want anyone to be killed using the tool I’ve made”.

on the other hand if your reason given was

“I am not opening this up to chinese millitary because I would fear they might use this against the US millitary”. then you at least aren’t bullshitting anyone.

I guess? Although that’s not what I was referring to anyways. Whether your government considers a nation an enemy or not doesn’t mean that other nation isn’t hostile to yours and the people in it.

I’m struggling to think of another government that is more hostile to Americans than the US government.

Normies base their concerns based on teevee and social sentiment and have a huge blind spot about US or whatever their home regime.
