Is there anyone in the modern that has been so sought after, yet so un-impactful as PG? I’m sure he’s a good egg, but he seems way overvalued.

You know a few years ago I’d be with you but Paul played his heart out these last playoffs and finally changed my mind on his grit and composure. His defense is legit and his offense was consistent and unstoppable.

Melo was ridiculously overpaid for a chucker who didn’t play D. Chris Paul and Kevin Durant have also achieved nothing and haven’t done much for their team’s chemistry and were on ridiculous contracts. Durant shirks more and more each year. Be mad at Bradley Beal and James Harden contracts. For me Paul is no longer in that group.

To be fair, MVPG on OKC was a thing (though very bad in the playoffs) and he nearly took the Clippers to the finals in 2021 without Kawhi.

Though what I don’t understand is signing him under a max…the guy will be 37 once it ends. Recipe for disaster if he regresses.

Definitely risky especially towards the end of the deal but 76ers kinda had to pull the trigger on someone this offseason with Maxey’s contract and PG was definitely the best available. He also wasn’t going to take less than 4 years otherwise it sounds like he would’ve stayed with the Clippers.

End of an era. This probably makes the 76ers contenders.

Wish the Clippers could have worked something out. Their other two stars decided to take pay cuts so PG would return.
