I love RFF. In fact I’ve enjoyed listening to it more than any other online source of music for a long time.

It’s a community internet radio station that plays music (and some spoken word) from artists on the Fediverse.
I love it, especially their ‘Comfy’ channel.
I’m glad that they are at least aware of how upset we all are about pollution. I don’t think it’s enough to command cooperation in investigating spills after they’ve already happened though. Lots of things need to looked at and acted on, quickly.
There’s a good video here about the impact of poultry farming on the Wye for example:
Time to pay VAT motherfuckers.
It’s all fucking tire kickers anyway.
I had an instance recently where it was faster and easier to literally make an item with my bare hands than to coordinate a purchase of one via marketplace.
It’s a strong tradition in France that when you get pissed off with a company you take its CEO hostage.
It seems to be really effective.
There is some good reading to be had that explains the specific roles that different groups of former Soviet elites were allowed to fill within the corrupt power vacuum that followed the collapse.
Can you recommend any good books? I haven’t studied Russia much but recently read Killer In The Kremlin and would like to read more.
I only used it to do occasional stuff to my photos that simple photo editors cannot do.
I’m aware I’m not properly answering your question here but it sounds like you might be better off ditching Adobe and using something like GIMP or Krita. I went through a period when I was struggling with my cracked version of photoshop and not getting anything done and discovered it was much more efficient and relaxing to spend a couple of hours learning GIMP.
If you’d rather use photoshop that’s fair enough but I thought I’d just share my experience and offer a nudge in a different direction :)
Cavespider sounds hardcore.
Whoever did this is an absolute legend.
OK, apology accepted. And I do agree that commodified/appropriated speech is annoying to hear by the way.
How about a deal; you make more of an effort to be nice, and I make more of an effort to avoid corporate language?
Woah, shame on me for not getting my thesaurus out for you. I’ll be more careful next time…
There’s no need to be rude and swear at me. Be polite, offer a correction. If you’re against corporations (like I am) then maybe leave their culture of antagonism at the door and help keep the Fediverse pleasant, helpful and cooperative.
This is fantastic news, I’m so glad to hear this is being looked at.
You’re not doing it wrong. It’s just a bit like that at the moment.
What Peertube needs is for other Fediverse platforms to build in a filter so only posts which contain video are displayed.
Peertube posts do federate but because there are way less videos produced than text and image posts (for obvious reasons) they are drowned out. Filtering by content type seems like the obvious solution. This is how Pixelfed works (but for still images), so it’s clearly possible.
My feeling is that we’re still in the first iteration of the Fediverse, where it’s mostly trying to replace the functionality of corporate platforms. Which I think has mostly been achieved now. Hopefully it will start leaning into its unique strengths now and become really innovative.
Of course there is also the issue of adoption and Peertube has had less publicity than Mastodon and Lemmy, so it’s understandable that there is less content. If you can, contact your favourite youtubers and ask them to start a Peertube channel. If enough of us do this it starts to become a thing :)
When I was a kid I thought grownups were out of touch when they used slang and it made me cringe.
Now I’m a grownup I know that they did it to make me cringe.
The view through that hole in the bridge looks like something out of Soul Reaver.
Russia?
Pretty much like everything else corporations do then!
IMO they should not have been bailed out. For most people the economy has already failed and it should be allowed to crash fully so that it can be rebuilt and restructured in full. That might sound extreme but I don’t see many other alternatives. Something has to be sacrificed for the sake of the vast majority of people and the real economy and I think it should be the financial sector.
Er, what?
