There are no more restrictions on Nazi symbols in videogames, except that glorifying Nazism remains illegal regardless of the medium, of course.

Didn’t some Ubisoft exec (possibly the same one) already blame gamers for the lack of success that this pirate “AAAA” game I’ve already forgotten the name of had?
There is an even more comfortable way of playing in bed (requires a wall to your right or left). It’s borderline decadent: Use a wall-mounted arm for a monitor, combine it with a VESA tablet mount, insert either a tablet or a small portable display and then connect whatever you want to this display. You can quickly swing the thing to face you - and once you’re done for the evening, just push it flush against the wall.
I’m primarily using this for reading ebooks on a tablet (using a Bluetooth mouse for scrolling) and watching the occasional episode of a TV show in bed, but it also works very well for gaming. I’ve used it with all sorts of other devices, including consoles, a small PC and the old hardware Steam streaming thingy. You can of course connect a Steam Deck to this screen as well, although keep in mind that most portable displays are 1080p and the Deck is optimized for 1280x800. Especially for longer play sessions, this is less straining due to the larger display and the lower weight of a controller vs. the Deck.
If you don’t need the ability to mount a tablet, you can of course just attach a regular monitor to this thing.
I thought Proton supports D3D12? There are all sorts of games using this API that run just fine on Linux.
I think they have improved the update system for this one. Install size is also much smaller.
A 2080 is still more powerful than base PS5 and Xbox Series X, so it’ll likely do fine for the rest of this console generation.
What’s the rest of your hardware like? I’m asking, because a slow CPU can rather drastically limit the performance of a GPU.
I bought an RTX 2080 last year for around 200 bucks. It’s still very competent at 1440p. There are only a few games that lock away the highest texture settings due to this card only having 8 GB of VRAM.
I would suggest looking into a used Nvidia card instead. Something like an RTX 2080 or 3080 (or one of their variants), depending on your budget. DLSS alone makes these vastly superior to anything AMD has on offer.
To be fair, the most powerful card on the market can be a bit bigger than normal. Complaining about the bulk of a high-end card is like bemoaning the poor fuel economy of a Bugatti Veyron.
You could read the article, but I’ll save you the trouble:
[T]he PC release will come enhanced with native 4K resolution at up to 144hz on compatible hardware, monitor support for both Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9), HDR10 support, and full keyboard and mouse functionality. It will also feature NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings and more.
Valve’s team for the store is absolutely tiny. They simply chose not to hire anyone who is qualified to deal with German bureaucracy. This is the easiest and least costly way (since it’s up to developers to self-rate their games) to comply with regulations.
Eh, that’s a bit different. The Russian state does carry out assassinations of critics.
It’s worth it for the story alone (both main games since the reboot). Such a wild collection of outrageous twists and turns, but with characters that you actually care about. They managed to write a main protagonist who - in between eviscerating Nazi mechas and blowing up secret bases while using improbable tech - is actually an emotionally vulnerable human being. This is such a stroke of genius that suddenly makes the entire scenario so much more believable and the story so much more impactful, because he and many of the other characters feel like real human beings, despite the almost exuberant embracing of clichés (only to then tear them up). It’s still campy as all hell, but it somehow works. I don’t think I’ve ever seen games juggle so many different balls without dropping any of them. Even if you don’t care about any of that, the shooting alone is second only to the recent DOOM reboots.
