So it shows the elected officials as being corrupt to the point of having broken the process, and the answer to the evil mayor is the authoritative police. How often are corporations the bad guys?

They get overrun by the local threats the USA may have been able to help with? I mean, there’s obviously nuance here, but you aren’t using it either so
Yeah when we ask the government of that place, and they say yes, we should then feel free to do that.
What short sighted idiots. Chopping down a tree to steal the fruit? Our species is its own Great Filter.
I’m out of the loop. I know he’s seen as cantankerous but did he say or do something actually bad?
Who does that help?

The paradox is false. Society depends on the social contract; You tolerate me and I’ll tolerate you and nobody hits each other with fists/clubs/spears/swords/bullets. We all get to try to do our best to thrive. If an entity tries to take away that right from somebody, they have broken the contract. Contracts have consequences. Intolerance isn’t tolerated because it breaks the contract. If the contract is broken we can’t have society. People who want a society should respect the contract and not tolerate intolerance. No paradox, just a logical process.

Black and white? Don’t fight. Grey? Stay away. Green? Remain unseen. Plaid? That’s real bad. Red? That’s just Fred. Clear? Oh dear… Orange? Make some…more…whinge?
The thing that confuses me about this wonderful concept is how did the Tamarians ever get to the point of building wooden ships if they only spoke in meme and metaphor? How could they have created a culture that speaks only in references if their references couldn’t happen without culture existing to make note of the referenced events?
Google forks Linux to make a mobile operating system, stripping out lots of familiar FOSS software and licensing requirements and replacing it with their own. Also it’s written in java.
