Obviously the old CDs and the backup image were thrown out/deleted just a few days earlier, because I proudly had saved the bulk of it - and being poor students having loads of storage for multiple backups wasn’t in reach.
Backing them up again to fresh CDs was on the plan, but I quickly needed a live USB stick to restore my work laptop…

Since then I’m always anxious, when working with dd. Still years later I triple check and already think through my backup restoration plan
Which is a good thing in itself, but my heart rate spikes can’t be healthy

Like in German many words come from French or sometimes also from English words.

I bought a color laser printer (HP) and got a 3rd party toner, if I run out - because it’s a local company doing recycling and so on

I’m now even a bit ashamed, because I can’t really support this local company, because I haven’t had the chance to even put their toner in, as the initial ones still work now after fucking 6 years. And we even had some time, when we tried printing some photos in high quality (and corresponding paper)

Don’t know how long it will hold up, but as I’ve pretty much moved to a paperless office, this initial toner kit will probably survive longer than my company…

I’m still naively optimistic somehow and think discussion is necessary.
As long as the other part isn’t just a plain troll, I try to rip down illusional borders, because I think it’s important to understand the “other side”, because after all, we’re still in this shithole together.

As said, this is a naive approach, which burns me up bit by bit, but I don’t see any other solution.

China also pulled back from their 1-child policy and as far as I remember Russia never had something like that in place.

And I think we’re globally already over the brink of sustainable humans.
How should we be able to support all the newborn humans, if human population grows even more. Isn’t that bad for said children, if they can’t have enough…anything anymore?

This obviously needs global solutions, as many societies would feel, that others are just overwhelming them, when they are producing more offspring.

But what does this even have to do with abortion rights?
If you have a condom accident and can’t afford to have a child, is it better to have the child live through worse conditions, than when planned?
What about rape or medical, where the mother could die?

This perspective seems quite narrow, but maybe I didn’t quite get your point.
