howd you get around to moving to japan? hoping to move internationally, not necessarily japan, but always wondering how jobs/visas/etc worked for people.

rich people vote to keep themselves rich. cant not be rich when you buy $250 workout sets and drink powdered, overpriced juices
thank god i had my adblocker on. didnt even realize :/
fireworks are one of the most harmful, resource-demanding form of shitty entertainment we have in the modern age. i hope drone shows catch on in the usa. could have wayyyy better shows, no noise, and theyre reusable
honestly theres hardly been any snow the past few winters :/ who knows what it could be this year. city roads will be plowed, you will have to shovel your own driveway if you hope to drive out of it unless you hire a snow plow. if youre in a neighborhood like my parents, people may pitch in to get their driveways plowed by the same company for a better rate. shoveling sidewalks isnt mandatory but some people (me) consider it polite so people can use it. if you have a dog and are like my dad, you may also find yourself shoveling out little patches of grass for the dog to do their business.
my dads a mild prepper and had his ‘told you so’ moment when he brought up 2 boxes of n95 masks. he donated a box to hospital and the other box got the family through the worst months
idk i think its more psychological for me. if i got something im not looking forward to the next like a shitty day at work and a long evening, i need to take some me time
i can scroll around satellite maps of the earth for hours. i cant tell you how much of North America and Europe is just farmland, and how freaky northern Russia/Canada look even just through satellite pixels.
i love this so much
wild to me how businesses will piss their pants about losing street parking that so few cars can even fit on when it means dozens more can now come by bike. cars can always park in the back/in the garage, way more people are able to come if there’s vehicle-free ways to do so
in some asian markets ive seen instant ramen labelled artificial chicken, artificial beef. maybe its vegan?
so sad to see the present day violence in rich, ancient cities. wishing the best for mali and timbucktu 🙏🙏
ah yes as seen in my favorite documentary, futurama
thats a great idea
the just egg cross contamination is totally ridiculous as its the only egg alternative found in most stores. hope they soon realize that people with allergies need their products too!! im lucky my egg allergy isnt bad enough that the cross contamination bothers me, but im grateful for the vegan movement. ive been vegan only 6 years but havent eaten eggs since i was younger.
im a vegan with a soy allergy. not seeing the correlation
partner just recently got back from Ireland. car culture definitely exists but mostly because it is a very farm-heavy rural country outside of a few cities. other than shitty weather though the streets in Dublin seem more tame than most in American cities. The zoning laws seem less insane as there are businesses closer to housing, likely making walking/biking more feasible even though a lot of the space can be a bit suburban. Definitely not Amsterdam or Paris. Or super affordable atm, but it is an English speaking option if thats important to you.
very interesting, thanks for digging this up!!
incredible overview thank you. can i ask what field you’re in? techs getting grim so im not sure if i should double down or just give up and get an mba
