I mean, I still try to do all these things.
But I still don’t really believe anything I do makes any real difference, because my individual impact is pretty much zero when compared to billionaires and corpos.

You keep posting that without giving any source for your claims except for some screenshot out of context.
Is this a real concern or do you just have some weird vedentta against the guy? Seiosuly, you’re in every comment section when this website is mentioned.
That’s not why. There’s a very high chance Valve is actively working on new standalone VR since some years, there are regular leaks confirming some progress.
It’s usually the same reason for their best games. :)
With previous Half-Life games came Source engine and the entire Steam.
Sure, it’s not like their last full release was actually a single player only game.
The headline is taken a bit out of context, the guy being interviewed seems to imply he doesn’t really consider VR “single player games”.
And besides, he left Valve 7 years ago.
I guess it stuck as “this one kind halfway between mid and high end” card .

I think it’s Golden Rabbit Edition, which used to mean this was a variant dedicated for the Chinese market.
They’re not hacktivists, they’re just assholes.
Man, USA politics are wild.
How does that even work? I’m not in USA so I can’t even access that page.
6 years of Android version updates
Terrible headline. It’s not record-breaking even for Samsung.
I tried a few players and they all have issues. :(
Damn, I didn’t know streamable is so crappy now…
Anyway, I’ve tried a lot of different players and they all struggle.
On the phone it’s almost fine, but any Android TV Box just gets killed with a sufficiently complex scene.
Most anime have .ASS subtitles and are kinda complex sometimes with singsong related subtitles, but never had any issues on android with them.
That’s exactly what I meant. Most simple subtitles will be fine.
This example is still relatively simple, but it should give you an idea: https://streamable.com/nj8fey
Good fansubs can sometimes do really crazy things, including replacing entire moving backgrounds.
For some content DirectPlay is just not possible, as much as I’d love it to be.
More complex stylized subtitles will absolutely trash almost any Android device unless transcoded.
I think there’s kind of a 3rd choice, WebKit.
That’s where Chromium came from originally, so not really 3rd.
And what else should be recommended?
The choice is basically between Firefox or skinned Chromium.
Do you really want to experience first-hand just why Internet Explorer was this hated?
Here’s a hint: de facto monopoly on browser market that allowed them to control the web standards back then and their ideas were not good.
it has become a sinking ship and I’m eager to see who picks up the shards and runs with it.
I don’t think you have any idea how much work it takes to create a new browser.
It’s made by folks that once worked on the original Opera (back when it was still good).
Basing their new browser on Chromium is unfortunate, but the spirit of old Opera is there: customizability and focus on features for power users.
It’s the browser I’d be using if I abandoned Firefox for whatever reason.
People paid good money for this software, they shouldn’t have to get used to this.
No, they don’t… For years now most people have considered cyberpunk to be just “rainy cityscape with neons”.
But it’s not that surprising, since a lot of us already do live in a cyberpunk world, except for some of the advanced technologies usually appearing in the genre.
