Bah, that’s nothing. You should see how many rivers flow right through the middle of big cities, and how close the ocean gets to expensive houses and certain fishing communities.

Coincidence, you say? Did you know that there is not a single city, with a population over a million, where the sea level sits more than ten metres above the median ground level of the city.

The ocean is amazing, my friends.

Am I misunderstanding or are you saying that there’s no big city >10m below sea level?

(Sea level more than ten metres above city level)

How many times is this gonna be posted? This is the 4th or 5th time I’ve seen it this week.

Is it? I just looked at the top three months for this comm and it wasn’t posted even once.

Maybe pay more attention to where you are.

Maybe not on this instance but I tend to browse “everything” (not just “subscribed”) since the Lemmyverse isn’t that big.

        EDIT: Here’s a previous one. https://lemmy.ml/post/17286836

Also you should totally go there, it’s pretty cool IRL :)

Ok. So, not here at all. Thank you for proving yourself wrong.

If you expect anyone to search through every single comm and instance before you post I don’t think this type of forum is for you.

Yeah, especially if someone isn’t just cross-posting to multiple communities.

Natural reposts by different users in different communities are healthy and expected, especially on defederated social media (if you can call Lemmy that). It’s nobody’s personal feed.

While I don’t appreciate the undocumented stealth moderation (particularly where I named the place in the photo), my other deleted comment was super rude and definitely broke rule #1. I was out of line, so better that it’s gone.

Sorry WarmSoda, you didn’t deserve the hostility. Carry on, and may you avoid future asteroids.

Man, internet communities need more people like you who can admit when they are wrong and make proper amends. Good for you.

No need to apologize my friend. I didn’t take anything to offence. I hate reposts too. You’ve got to consider there’s place and a time frame involved with them. If it’s in different comms you just let it be. I sort by all/hot so I see how things spread across the communities too. It can be annoying, I hear ya.

Honestly if I had realized it was posted the other day in nonpolitical I probably wouldn’t have bothered posting it. But I only looked in this comm.

Stealth moderations I absolutely agree with you on. That’s wrong in everyway.

My wife made this joke during a presentation that was part of a job interview. Nobody laughed. Clear sign of a toxic environment.

See, I didn’t get it at first because this is how I picture most of Arizona to look anyway. The visitor’s center could’ve just been a historical camp/checkpoint along some gold or oil rush route or something! Lol
