I really love watching funny bad game review videos (e.g. Civvie) and was wondering what other similar content creators you could recommend.

Not really a review channel, but Josh from Let’s Game It Out is my favorite. He loves to break games, whether they are polished or janky. One of the few YT creators that I actually allow subscription notices.

He’s excellent, but I’ll stress the “not a review” part. He’s hilarious but you usually won’t get a good look at the games from watching his videos. He’ll often take a single mechanic and spend the entire video breaking the game in half using it, which means he won’t show 90% of the game’s content or how it normally plays.

True, but he does show enough of the game to give you an idea of how it would play.

I got started playing Palworld from his video on it, and I got Hydroneer because of him too.

I don’t know what kind of funny or what style of review you’re looking for, but there’s Matt McMuscles, who does “What Happened” and “The worst fighting game”.

What happened is not technically always about bad games, but about troubled development in general. Most of them do end up rather disastrous or at least disappointing and are known for it though.

The worst fighting game, however, exclusively reviews bad games, since, well, he’s looking for the worst one.

Love Matt’s channel! Just a comfortable voice to listen to. Still mourning Super Best Friends. :(

I heard his voice in River City Girls 2 and was like “Is that the Criticom Saga guy…?” I didn’t think it was such a distinct voice but apparently it is.

I didn’t know he did that, just checked… And yeah, the voice and tone are very recognizable but it’s also a bit funny that his character is a skeleton there too.

LoadingReadyRun’s “watch+play” series could be worth a look. Not strict reviews, but entertaining videos based on terrible games.

Animyst seemed like a genuinely creepy/interesting game to try to conquer with a handful of friends.

I’m assuming you already know AVGN, who pretty much invented it, but on the off-chance you don’t - his oldest videos are worth trying. I haven’t watched too much of his newer stuff, but I hear it devolved into pointlessness. Still, the backlog of good ones is massive.

AVGN is Angry Video Game Nerd, in case there’s any doubt.

Not in the style of Civvie and not always pure comedy but Action Button reviews are the best video game review videos I’ve ever seen. I’d recommend his Doom review, it’s only four hours long.

Be aware, his videos are not to everyone’s taste.

I (occasionally) like the frantic style of Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw’s Zero Punctuation game reviews. Together with the wacky animations, they’re quite something.
